First Friday? Pshhhh Who Needs That When You Have Cut ‘N’ Paste!

First Friday is a Philly thing. It’s just one of those things, you know? But, after the 5 – 9 p.m. event  in old city, there is plenty do to before either: A. clogging up the expensive old city bars or, B. calling it quits for the night.

Yes, Old City will stay open to accommodate your drinking needs, so fear not if you don’t feel like walking, like, 8 blocks to a different part of the city. Just know that lodged in between the Locust, Walnut, 11th and 12th street, there is a small dive bar that opens its doors to all communities once a month.

The typical Bike Stop client sports a leather harness and an appetite for gay sex, but during Cut’N’Paste, the bar opens its’ fourth floor for a super trans-friendly, gender-neutral, all-accepting event with DJs and extra staff to serve easy mixed drinks. Bike Stop staff have described the Cut N Paste kids as well-meaning adults there for a good time. The regulars at the bar generally stay away from Cut N Paste, making the Bike Stop seem like a totally different dive bar.

After looking at local recycled art, eating weird tapioca food-truck dishes, and spending too much money on handmade necklaces from Tibet (or local Philly artists!), you can hop over to 206 S. Quince St. for some strong mixed drinks and some quirky dancing on the next first Friday, March 7th, 2014. The cover charge is $10 and the event goes on until last call at 2 a.m.
